As a Promise to St. Jude Thaddeus

Over 40 years ago, Danny Thomas made a promise to St. Jude Thaddeus, the patron saint of lost causes: “Show me my way in Life, and I will build you a shrine.” His acting career soon after catapulted Thomas to fame and, true to his promise, he founded St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

St. Jude’s pioneering breakthroughs have made it the leading pediatric cancer research and treatment facility in the world, and that research is shared with the medical community all over the world. When St. Jude began, the cure rate for the most common form of leukemia was less than 4%. Today, the cure rates exceed 94%. Even more remarkable than the hospital’s part in improving the cure rates is the fact that no child is ever turned away because of their family’s ability to pay.

All net proceeds from Hooked on a Cure benefit St. Jude and the support of Danny Thomas’ dream.
